Acer Aspire 5517: Tips to Upgrade the System

Technology is highly dynamic and keeps on changing at a very high pace. Sometimes, it does not take even a single day when a product gets old after a new version is introduced. In this scenario if you want to upgrade your system then this article is the right resource to let you know about the ways in which you can do it safely and effectively.

RAM (random access memory)

The RAM of your laptop is the first to begin with while upgrading your Acer Aspire laptop.

A technician first looks at the RAM because it is the most cost effective means of improving the performance of your laptop. A deficient RAM is largely responsible for slow PC performance. You need at least 1GB or 2GB RAM when you are using high-end applications related to gaming, designing aor other types of multimedia work.

Network Card

Your browsing speed is vastly dependent on the network card you are using with your laptop. To experience better performance and fast browsing, you must upgrade to a good quality wireless card that can support speed upto 100Mbps.

Hard Drive

The next area which you need to focus while upgrading your Acer Aspire laptop is the hard drive. We usually have plenty of documents and files to store on our laptop in the form documents, pictures, images and more. Laptops now-a-days come with a hard drive capacity between 500 GB to 1000 GB. You must upgrade your laptop hard drive if it does not have this kind of space. It will help you store more and more data including movies, songs, video, pictures documents and more without caring about storage space.

Replacing a hard drive is one of the most difficult tasks associated with computers. First of all, you need to copy the entire data from the existing drive and then replace it with a new one. Moreover, you also need to install the operating system and other software again on your laptop once you finish replacing the hard drive. Upgrading your laptop hard drive is not as easy as in the case of desktops. You need to do this with a great deal of skill and under expert guidance offered by an experienced computer support service provider.

Processor

After the RAM, the processor is the next important thing that you should consider to increase the processing speed of your laptop. The task of upgrading is not easy and requires expert hands to handle it effectively. A powerful chip allows you run heavy applications used in photo editing and multimedia without taking a toll on the speed and performance of your laptop. Contemporary laptops are equipped with dual core or quad core processors that are extremely good in performance. So if you feel that your processor is not of that quality then you can opt for an upgrade to experience fast processing speeds.

The components discussed above are of huge importance because the performance of your Acer Aspire laptop depends on this. You need to exercise caution while upgrading them because any unwarranted move can harm your system. The ideal way of upgrading your system is to do it under the guidance of expert technicians offered by online tech support service providers.

What is wrong with my Acer Aspire 5517? Should I buy a new battery?

It's not much of a concern because I recently got a new computer which works perfectly. My Acer Aspire began showing signs of wear when the battery alert pop-up showed up in the taskbar. When I turn it on, a white screen flashes quickly and then it goes back to black. If I unplug the charger and replug it in, it won't work. I tried switching the power strip on and off. Should I buy a new battery? Or stick with the new computer.

You didn't really explain what was wrong with your laptop. Okay, so if you unplug the charger and plug it back in, the battery refuses to charge? What is the error you are receiving in the pop up window? Have you bought a new charger, different from your original wattage? At any rate, get a charger of the same wattage from a friend ( wattage is on the label ) and plug it into your laptop. Unplug it and plug it back in, and if it charges, your cord is having problems. If it doesn't charge, it's most likely your battery.

It could be your battery, since batteries gradually lose their capacity to store energy over time, you probably need to get a new replacement soon. You could also try below tips to see if this will help. Remove the battery and charger/ac adapter/power cord from your Acer Aspire 5517 laptop, press and hold the power button for 20 seconds to discharge any residual current inside the laptop. This clears your RAM and is like a hardware reset. Replace the battery and charger/ac adapter/power cord and turn your laptop on. Check if it's something to do with your laptop power cord or power source problem. Insufficient power might cause some of those issues as well. Take the battery out and power on your laptop Acer Aspire 5517 with the charger only. ---Make sure your laptop power jack and charger plug tip are securely connected. If power jack is loose you can find laptop power jack on ebay. However, fixing and soldering the power jack requires professional skill. ---Always, the green/blue LED on charger needs to be constantly on. If not, replace the defective charger. Since battery/ ac adapter has its own lifespan and does not last forever, to help you save up some, you can consider getting a Acer Aspire 5517 charger under lifetime warranty from store like topmic.com Wish the Best.
